How to Choose the Right Chinese Tea for Yourself?

I completely understand that a new tea drinker might not know how to choose the right tea. Especially with Chinese tea, the variety is vast and complex. For example, Chinese black tea includes Yunnan Black Tea, Fujian Black Tea, and Keen Black Tea. While they are all black teas, they have different flavors and types, including green tea, white tea, yellow tea, black tea, and floral tea.
So, if I’m a new tea drinker, is there a simple way to choose?
My suggestion is to base your choice on your usual taste preferences in drinks:
Rich Flavor
If you prefer strong, rich flavors, you might enjoy Chinese black tea or Purer tea. These teas are generally robust and intense.
Light Flavor
If you prefer a milder taste, white tea might be a good choice. White tea is gentle and light, and it can also have a calming effect.
Strong Aroma
F you enjoy a pronounced aroma, try Chinese oblong tea, especially varieties from Fujian. The fragrance of these teas is truly captivating.
Among different tea types, there are some well-known varieties. For example, red tea includes Keemun, Lapsang Souchong, and Dian Hong, while white tea includes Fuding White Tea.
If you’re new to tea, it’s important to try a variety of teas and types to find what you like. This process is very enjoyable as you continuously discover new flavors.
