Moonlight Beauty offers a unique blend of floral and olive aromas, making it a delightful choice for those who appreciate light and refreshing white teas. Its elegant flavor profile is perfect for both new and seasoned tea drinkers.
With aging, bitterness and astringency continue to fade, making it even more forgiving for longer steeping and also well-suited for simmering.

This Moonlight Beauty comes from Jinggu County, Pu’er, Yunnan, China, sourced from the core producing area of Yangta Village. The material is from Jinggu Dabai (Camellia sinensis cv. ‘Jinggu Dabaicha’), a relatively rare triploid tea cultivar within the Yunnan large-leaf tea system.
Positioned around the second-grade tier, comparable to Fujian White Peony (Bai Mu Dan), it tends to be richer and more mellow than Silver Needle. Compared with Bai Hao Yin Zhen, the cup is usually fuller and smoother, with a steadier sweetness and a comfortable lingering finish—while still staying clean and easy to drink.
We don’t lock sourcing to one fixed farmer or a single garden, because tea is an agricultural product and quality can vary year to year. Each season, we collect samples through multiple channels and repeatedly test and taste them.
For Moonlight Beauty, we prioritize leaf/bud integrity, liquor clarity, aroma purity (clean sweet/floral notes), a fuller and smoother mouthfeel, and stable brewing endurance. We then select the lot with the most consistent, clean, and mellow overall performance before offering it to you.
A local Jinggu legend tells the story of the “Seventh Princess” and Moonlight Beauty. It says she taught tea growing and tea making, and people later selected a special leaf—darker on one side and silvery on the other, like moonlight on the leaf. This style was named Yue Guang Bai (Moonlight White Tea), also known as Moonlight Beauty.
Traditionally, it’s described as being dried gently away from strong sunlight, which helps preserve its soft sweetness, light floral notes, and signature silvery look—one of the most recognizable styles of Yunnan white tea and Chinese white tea.
