This Xiao Bai Long comes from Jinggu County, Pu’er, Yunnan, China, sourced from the core producing area of Yangta Village. The material is from Jinggu Dabai (Camellia sinensis cv. ‘Jinggu Dabaicha’), a relatively rare triploid tea cultivar within the Yunnan large-leaf tea system.
Positioned as a top / tribute-grade bud tea—on the same tier as Fujian Silver Needle (Bai Hao Yin Zhen)—it is made from 100% single buds. The dry leaves look silvery and glossy with abundant white pekoe, resembling “dragon whiskers.” In the cup, it shows a bright pale-yellow liquor, a clean pekoe aroma with gentle floral notes, and a fresh, sweet, refined taste with a clear, lingering sweet aftertaste and strong brew endurance.
We don’t lock sourcing to one fixed farmer or a single garden, because tea is an agricultural product and quality can vary year to year. Each season, we collect samples through multiple channels and repeatedly test and taste them.

For a premium bud tea like Xiao Bai Long, we prioritize bud integrity and uniformity, pekoe coverage, liquor brightness, aroma purity (pekoe + floral), and a clean sweet aftertaste with stable brewing performance. We then select the lot with the most stable, clean, and refined overall performance before offering it to you.
Local legend says that around the Daoguang era (c. 1840), a tea farmer in Jinggu, Yunnan discovered a wild tea plant near the Lancang River, known for its silvery buds covered in fine white down. He collected the seeds and planted them back home, and the cultivar later became known as Jinggu Da Bai (Jinggu Big White Tea). The finished leaf looks bright and silvery—like “dragon whiskers”—and it was said to be offered as a tribute tea, earning the name “Dragon Whisker Tribute White Tea.” Today, it is considered one of the key cultivars behind premium Yunnan white tea and Chinese white tea.
