This black tea is made from materials sourced in Fengqing County, Yunnan, China, one of the key core regions for Dianhong (Yunnan Black Tea / Yunnan red tea). The area enjoys a mild, spring-like climate throughout the year with a small annual temperature swing, but a noticeable day–night temperature difference—conditions that help tea trees accumulate richer natural compounds.
For this tea, we blend two Fengqing large-leaf tea cultivars. Fengqing large-leaf tea was recognized as a national-level improved tea variety by China’s Ministry of Agriculture in 1984. With its naturally rich composition—especially higher tea polyphenols—it produces a black tea with a bright, red liquor, a fuller and fresher taste, and a high, lasting aroma.
We do not rely on hard-to-verify stories about “one specific tea farmer” or “one tea master.” Instead, we choose our materials through a market-based selection process.

Each harvest season, we go directly into the Fengqing producing areas and source samples through multiple channels—including tea farmers, tea factories, and family farms—then repeatedly test, screen, and taste them. In the end, we select the version with a richer, more layered aroma, stronger natural sweetness, and a cleaner, smoother finish—so what we offer you is chosen for real performance, not just a good story.
